Be aware of some of the signs of elder abuse
There are many types of abuse.
- Physical
- Emotional
- Financial
- Neglect
- Abandonment
- Sexual
Watch for these signs of abuse:
- Depression, confusion, being withdrawn
- Being isolated from family and friends
- Unexplained bruises, burns, or scars
- Appearing dirty, underfed, dehydrated, over or under medicated, or not receiving appropriate care for medical conditions
