Words of Wisdom -- "Don't give up!"

Meet Cindy!

By B.J. Harvey, OTS

This week’s survivor spotlight is Cindy! Cindy is one of our valued members here at the American Stroke Foundation. She is somebody who radiates positivity and provides encouragement to her fellow participants. Some of Cindy’s favorite things about ASF are the staff, the participants, and morning muscle moves! She also enjoys riding the NuStep and occasionally participating in wake up your brain sessions. When Cindy is not here at ASF, she can be found relaxing and watching movies. Specifically she enjoys watching romantic movies. Cindy is also an avid reader of SciFi, finishing “all 13 books” of the “Shadow Hunter” series.

Cindy has a strong support system that is deeply rooted in her faith and marriage. Her husband Tim is one of her biggest supporters, you can often see him accompanying her at ASF and always providing positive encouragement. Cindy has been going to the same church for the last 40 years and believes that her “faith and prayer” have been strong factors in her recovery process. When asked if she had any words of wisdom for other survivors who may be beginning their recovery journey, Cindy said “Don’t give up!” Cindy is a wonderful individual and we are very grateful to have her here at the American Stroke Foundation.
